Tapping to release anger

Have you ever heard the quote “Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned”?

Anger is a powerful emotion. It can carry an intense charge if you are feeling lit up about something that is important to you.

Do you know what happens to your body when you are angry? The adrenal glands flood the body with stress hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol. The brain moves blood away from the gut and towards the muscles, in preparation for physical exertion. Your heart rate, blood pressure and respiration most likely increase and, as you may recognize, your body temperature rises.

Unfortunately many people think of ANGER as a “bad emotion”. There is actually no such thing as a BAD emotion...it's just an emotion that makes you feel bad.

Anger commonly arises when people have been triggered in some way. They may feel threatened, accused, or even attacked and treated unfairly. Depending on the situation, anger can cause someone to feel out of control and perhaps do or say something that they may regret later.

The bottom line is that anger is a normal emotion and you are entitled to feel angry if you are angry...you just don’t want to “unpack your bags there.” In other words, by all means feel your anger, just don’t carry it for so long that it begins to harm you physically.

Luckily for all of us, we know about this great technique call EFT/Tapping that can help us to identify emotions and where we feel them, AND THEN LET THEM GO.

How cool is that? Tapping on the emotion of anger is the best gift you can give yourself. Otherwise, you may find that your body starts to speak to you with symptoms of anger that can show up as inflammation, high blood pressure, pain, etc.

Besides, why would you want to walk around feeling angry? No judgement here...some people feel the need to hold onto anger to protect them in life. This is precisely why tapping is so important. Isn’t it time to set yourself free??

Come tap along with me in the video below to help you release anger.

I even share a story about how my own anger made me physically sick while I was on vacation years ago (and silly me, I chose not to tap because I was too angry).

Tap along and release your anger now!

As always, feel free to share this video with anyone you think could use it or benefit from it. Let me know how tapping has helped you to release anger.

Tap into Your Life,

Julie
